How uPaged digitized mileage tracking for its nurses
uPaged needed mileage tracking and reimbursement running before its first community nurses hit the road. Driversnote made it a plug-and-play process.
“We needed to be able to track mileage and enable seamless reimbursement.”

We came across Driversnote at just the right time
uPaged had only just set up the community nursing arm of its business. Community nursing means nurses on the road, driving to patients rather than working a ward, and every one of those trips has to be logged and paid back.
uPaged needed mileage tracking and reimbursement running before the first nurses started their shifts, but the pen-and-paper method, which a lot of businesses start off with, did not appeal to them. As Zara Lord puts it, "this would have been a very manual and time-consuming process without something like Driversnote."
A plug-and-play solution for mileage processes
The requirement was practical: get mileage from a nurse's car into an approved, payable claim without inventing an admin process from scratch. Driversnote logs trips automatically, nurses classify them in the app, and reports come out ready for payroll.
"It was a no-brainer that we needed a digital tool to handle this," Zara says. The Driversnote success team set uPaged up and got the first nurses onboarded in no time, establishing a strong foundation for all things mileage right off the bat.
The result: unnecessary mileage headache avoided
uPaged now has 30 nurses actively tracking mileage with the app, and 462 approved mileage reports have gone through the system already. The biggest win is that, thanks to Driversnote, the manual process never had to exist. "Once nurses were all up and running, it's been very easy to manage," Zara says.
Two features uPaged swears by
As uPaged got to use Driversnote Teams features, two functionalities stood out as “really helpful.” One was the forced reporting periods, meaning nurses have to submit a full pay week of mileage rather than trickling in claims, which keeps the payroll cycle clean.
On top of that, Driversnote flags trips that start or end at a nurse's home, which turned out to matter for pay, not just admin tidiness. uPaged offers additional reimbursement in those cases, and the flag is what makes them easy to spot.
Support that actually helps
Setting up a reimbursement process for a new service is the point where most teams get stuck. Thanks to the Driversnote success team, uPaged was guided through the onboarding experience quickly, but thoroughly. In fact, Zara mentions the initial setup and onboarding as a big reason why the rollout worked smoothly.
“The Driversnote support team has been incredibly helpful in getting us up and running. Anyone needing to reimburse mileage for employees, Driversnote is a no-brainer. Makes my life so much easier.”
